Understanding the Keys Of The Gospel Increases Our Faith In the Saviour
Story
Emily Freeman relates the following story: A couple of years ago our extended family had the opportunity to spend a vacation on a ranch located just outside of Zion National Park. Since we would be staying a number of days, I packed plenty of clothes and we crammed ourselves into the minivan amongst cooler and suitcases to make the four and half hour trip. We had a wonderful vacation, but by the time Saturday rolled around, we were all ready to go home. Caleb, my oldest son, woke up bright and early , begging us to leave in time to make it home for his soccer game. My brother and his wife were leaving early that morning so we mad the decision to send Caleb home with them. The rest of our family would stay until the late afternoon when the others would be leaving.
I quickly helped Caleb gather up his things and then had a brilliant idea: I would send all our dirty clothes home win a suitcase with Caleb. My brother had plenty of room in his car, and this would gives a little extra space for the ride home. In no time at all they were off, and we settled in for a final day of fishing, canoeing, and four-wheeling. Then we cleaned the cabin, packed the car and by late afternoon we were ready to leave. Everyone loaded their belongings into the car, climbed into their seats, and settled down for the drive home. As my husband Greg, was hauling out the last load of garbage, he yelled to me "Make sure the keys are in the ignition." I checked, but they were not there. Next he asked me to check under the seat. They were not there either. Finally he said 'Oh, I know where they are, thy are in the pockets of the pants I was wearing yesterday."
My heart sank. That meant they were in the pile of clothes that I had sent home with Caleb hours earlier. All of a sudden I wasn't as brilliant as I had originally thought. As remote as the area was, I figured we probably couldn’t count on the FedEx and I found myself wishing you could email objects over the internet.
After the initial panic wore off, Greg called a very loyal friend who agreed to drive the keys back down to us. But as I sat there in the middle of nowhere and watched the rest of my extended family drive away, I couldn't help but feel abandoned.
I can't tell you how happy I was at midnight when our friend finally pulled up, pushing the electronic button on the keychain that made the headlights on the car flash on and off. I have never been so happy to see a set of keys.

- Why was Emily so happy to get her keys back?
- If Emily had borrowed a key from someone in the camp would it have helped her?
- Why or why not?
- Who has the keys to receive revelation for the world?

"Great Temporal and spiritual strength flows from the following those who have the keys of the kingdom of God in our time. Throughout the ages the Lord has revealed sacred truths to his prophets. this knowledge has helped many weary traveler find their way back home"

Our prophets are the watchman on the tower and the man who holds the keys that can lead us safely back to our Father in Heaven. President Monson: Take care of the one, Be kind, Serve, By his very presence and by the thing she has said, he has taught us to find peace in uncertain times
Activity- (Put three boxes or bags in front of the kids-each with something in them. In Box 1 put something gross, in box 2 put nothing and in box 3 put something yummy).
Tell the class
The prophet has "seen inside the box". We should all follow him. In front of you are three bags, in one of the bag there is a special prize for you. Who wants to come up and pick what bag to look in?
—Is it hard for you to choose what bag to pick?
—Why or why not?
Sometimes it is hard to make a choice without information or experience. You haven’t seen inside the box (or bag). .
Call up a member of the class and let her look in each box. Invite her to sit back down,
Right now there is only one of you who knows what is in the box. I am going to take a vote, who ever wants what is in box/bag 1 raise your hand (the child who looked in will not raise their hand so hopefully no one else will),
how about box 2?
What about box 3? (hopefully they will all raise their hand)
why did the class choose Box 3? Because the child who saw inside the box chose Box 3. Right? She's seen inside all the boxes.

Pres. Thomas S. Monson
Our Prophet has "seen inside the box" and knows the choices we should make. He will always make good choices and we will receive eternal rewards by watching the choices he makes. If we don't choose the Prophet's way, what do we get? Open the second box--nothing, no eternal family, no hope, no joy. May we all follow the Prophet in the same way (Thinking OF COURSE I will follow him.) to get our eternal reward.
Let each person pick their reward from the box.
